Review View Canal Hollywood The Age Of Adaline MovieMoka Filems

Name : Rene Rodriguez / Alias : Miami Herald
The Age of Adaline is a modern romantic fairy tale set in San Francisco, marred by bad narration and an unnecessary desire to overexplain random magic.

Name : Bilge Ebiri / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
The Age of Adaline has a fundamental weakness: The tepid romance is supposed to structure everything else, so the film feels disjointed - a series of good, sometimes even great scenes in search of an organizing principle.

Name : Stephen Whitty / Alias : Newark Star-Ledger
Burstyn is as beautiful and emotionally present as always and Ford - after so many years of grumpily picking up paychecks - seems delighted to be acting again, and in a real movie.

Name : Linda Barnard / Alias : Toronto Star
Lovers of the genre will find plenty to love about the stylish Age of Adaline and may find themselves rooting through pockets for a tissue at points, a romance movie equivalent of a standing ovation.

Name : Tom Russo / Alias : Boston Globe
Leave it to Harrison Ford to pull off a rescue that one of his signature heroes might envy. In a deftly crafted supporting role, Ford does as much as Lively herself to shape Adaline's strange predicament into something genuinely resonant.

Name : John Anderson / Alias : Wall Street Journal
Okay, it's hooey. "Adaline" is not a documentary. What it is, though, is seductive.

Name : Andrew Lapin / Alias : NPR
Again and again, director Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste & Jesse Forever) allows shades of a more nuanced movie to pop up along the margins, only to steer instead toward innocent niceties.

Name : Adam Graham / Alias : Detroit News
For a movie about a 106-year-old - albeit one trapped in the body of a 29-year-old - "The Age of Adaline" doesn't have a lot of wisdom.

Name : Betsy Sharkey / Alias : Los Angeles Times
A sweeping romance beautifully wrapped in classy couture and slightly suspect in the way it uses metaphysics to manipulate matters of the heart.

Name : Nathalie Atkinson / Alias : Globe and Mail
Lively glides across the screen from scene to scene - like the ballroom of a grand old hotel with a suitor in hot pursuit - with all the emotional weight of a model in a perfume commercial.

Name : Inkoo Kang / Alias : TheWrap
Lively's never been better, but "Adaline" is more interested in what she's wearing than what her character's thinking.

Name : Stephanie Merry / Alias : Washington Post
"The Age of Adaline" works best as a simple story of boy meets girl; girl falls in love; girl mulls whether or not to reveal that she'll stay young forever. Everything else is just a lot of unnecessary noise.

Name : Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
The makings of an interesting movie are here, but the script, written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz, collapses on itself in the third act.

Name : Claudia Puig / Alias : USA Today
Lively's performance is appropriately mysterious but too shallow to allow audiences to empathize with her character. The fault lies more in the screenplay, which doesn't give her character much depth.

Name : Tirdad Derakhshani / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
It fails to pursue any of the fascinating questions its premise raises. Instead, it dives headfirst into Nicholas Sparks territory and explores, though not without some charm, Adaline's romantic life.

Name : Leah Greenblatt / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
Adaline is consistently gorgeous to look at-and a good reminder that love, even when it's complicated or painful or doesn't last, is a whole lot better than immortality.

Name : Jon Frosch / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
Lively is an odd screen presence - somehow both warm and cold, accessible and recessive. She's long been ripe for a breakthrough lead role that allows her to stretch and surprise.

Name : Joe Williams / Alias : St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Starved of sufficient comedy or drama, "The Age of Adaline" is a pipsqueak.

Name : Justin Chang / Alias : Variety
Blake Lively's subtle, expressive performance sets the tone for this thoroughly ludicrous, thoroughly enjoyable romantic drama.

Name : Kyle Smith / Alias : New York Post
The film is as tender and endearing as a lamb, a lamb at rest in a fragrant atmosphere. It's a film that has a determined, unironic respect for things past.

Name : Katharine Pushkar / Alias : New York Daily News
Plausibility, shmausibility. This is pretty schmaltz done right.

Name : Jesse Hassenger / Alias : AV Club
For a movie that emulates literature, The Age Of Adaline never fits comfortably into a particular form-literary or cinematic.

Name : Manohla Dargis / Alias : New York Times
Far too often here, Adaline's parade of period dresses, coats and handbags stand in for the richness of human experience.

Name : Mick LaSalle / Alias : San Francisco Chronicle
Someone should steal this concept and make a decent movie out of it.

Name : Rafer Guzman / Alias : Newsday
A preposterous premise treated with great solemnity. Lively shines, though, as does Ford.

Name : Moira MacDonald / Alias : Seattle Times
Ultimately, you believe Lively as an old soul in a young body, carrying a heavy secret; you hope, somehow, that love will bring her a happy ending.

Review San Andreas 2015 View Film Filme

Name : Justin Lowe / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
Together with cinematographer Steve Yedlin and VFX supervisor Colin Strause, director Brad Peyton achieves a persuasive blending of practical shots and superior CG techniques for the most complex sequences.

Name : Ignatiy Vishnevetsky / Alias : AV Club
It's hard to appreciate San Andreas as much more than a series of special effects vistas: impeccably detailed, completely plastic.

Name : Peter Rainer / Alias : Christian Science Monitor
The CGI effects in this film, directed by Brad Peyton, are quite remarkable and help take one's mind off the cornball disaster-brings-families-together underpinnings.

Name : David Ehrlich / Alias : Time Out
Campy but never campy enough and far too numbingly artificial to ever drum up any real suspense or sense of awe, the film has a scale that's squandered on visual witlessness.

Name : Alonso Duralde / Alias : TheWrap
Thankfully, the action set pieces are exciting enough, and come at such a successive clip - "Oh, s-t" may be the film's most repeated line of dialogue - that it's only afterward that you have the chance to pause and ask questions about the plot.

Name : Rene Rodriguez / Alias : Miami Herald
In San Andreas, The Big One finally hits California, and not even Dwayne Johnson's mutant biceps can keep those infamous tectonic plates from separating.

Name : Randy Myers / Alias : San Jose Mercury News
As for the story line, there are faults and cracks aplenty. But "San Andreas" does know where its epicenter must be: overdone, loud, anything-but-realistic and enthusiastic destruction sequences.

Name : Andrew O'Hehir / Alias : Salon.com
Considered as pure spectacle, "San Andreas" is gripping and effective, as well as a somewhat interesting form of counter-narrative: A vision of near-term apocalypse that has nothing to do with climate change, monsters or alien invaders.

Name : Joe Neumaier / Alias : New York Daily News
"San Andreas" is a disaster - literally.

Name : J. R. Jones / Alias : Chicago Reader
My resistance to summer blockbusters crumbled like a collapsing skyscraper in the face of this big, loud, exuberantly destructive movie.

Name : Adam Graham / Alias : Detroit News
"San Andreas" never pretends to be any less subtle than the Rock's physique. It's a hulking mass of wanton destruction, and a stupid-fun carnival of carnage.

Name : Chris Nashawaty / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
As patently preposterous, scientifically dubious, and unapologetically corny as director Brad Peyton's orgy of CGI devastation is, its popcorn prophecy of the inevitable is a blast of giddy, disposable fun.

Name : Brian Truitt / Alias : USA Today
The cringeworthy dialogue and unmoving earnestness are the biggest disasters in this mostly forgettable action flick

Name : Michael Phillips / Alias : Chicago Tribune
I enjoyed large chunks of San Andreas, largely because the actors give it a full load of sincerity, and there's some bizarrely effective comic relief thanks to Hugo Johnstone-Burt and Art Parkinson as Brits who picked the wrong week to visit the Bay Area.

Name : Mick LaSalle / Alias : San Francisco Chronicle
Some movies are easy to mock, but hard to resist. This is one of them.

Name : Cary Darling / Alias : Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com
When the earth is roiling and rippling like an angry ocean, it's an impressive sight. It's when the shaking stops though that San Andreas is a different type of disaster.

Name : James Berardinelli / Alias : ReelViews
Paul Giamatti is perfectly cast as the rumpled scientist and his scenes are by far the most interesting. It causes one to wonder if San Andreas might have worked better if the entire film had focused on his character.

Name : Christy Lemire / Alias : ChristyLemire.com
It's like Planes, Trains & Automobiles, only with a catastrophic body count.

Name : Michael O'Sullivan / Alias : Washington Post
The dialogue is inappropriately jocular throughout, which undercuts the genuine terror it attempts to muster.

Name : Rafer Guzman / Alias : Newsday
Top-notch effects and a bottom-scraping script make this disaster flick a spectacular bore.

Name : Andrew Barker / Alias : Variety
California crumbles spectacularly in an action movie that quickly degenerates from blissfully stupid to fatally stupid.

Name : Julia Cooper / Alias : Globe and Mail
San Andreas lacks backbone. Between its steroidic CGI and emotionally vacant plot line, the movie is all flex, no muscle.

Name : Joe Morgenstern / Alias : Wall Street Journal
"San Andreas" changes all too quickly from satisfyingly foolish to dismayingly dumb to genuinely stupid.

Name : Steven Rea / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
Quite literally the blockbuster of the year.

Name : Anthony Lane / Alias : New Yorker
The allure of San Andreas rests entirely on the calibre of its pandemonium, savored, ideally, with a brawling audience on a Friday night.

Name : Chris Klimek / Alias : NPR
Helo-flown and hella-dumb, the movie delivers what its ads promise and not a particle more: Semi-convincing digital erasure of infrastructure.

Name : Peter Travers / Alias : Rolling Stone
Hell, I'm as up as the next guy for a dumb summer epic with special effects that fire up audiences. But did San Andreas have to be such a monument to stupidity?

Name : A.O. Scott / Alias : New York Times
It's hard not to shrug, stifle a yawn and reach for the popcorn when the Golden Gate Bridge once again buckles and sways and drops vehicles into the bay.

Name : Peter Howell / Alias : Toronto Star
When you think about it, is there anybody else you'd want looking out for you in times of trouble than Johnson?

Name : David Edelstein / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
There are things in San Andreas that no one would have dreamed of seeing 40 years ago, when Earthquake (with its tacky, plaster-cracking "Sensurround") represented the state of the art. But nothing means anything.

Name : Moira MacDonald / Alias : Seattle Times
The movie nicely delivers the computer-generated goods - the destruction of the Golden Gate Bridge is pretty spectacular - and if Johnson doesn't quite make it sing, at least it growls suspensefully.

Name : Amy Nicholson / Alias : L.A. Weekly
It's all big, distant, unfathomable wreckage - shattering skyscrapers and rippling cityscapes - with no sense of the human cost

Name : Kenneth Turan / Alias : Los Angeles Times
An action hero with a rare kind of gravitas, Johnson has a stabilizing influence on all the silliness that surrounds him.

Name : Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
Hahahaha. Really, that's about all there is to say about "San Andreas" .

Name : Wesley Morris / Alias : Grantland
The earth of San Andreas cleaves itself open to us like the devil's sunroof. Who are we not to leap into the void?

Name : Tom Russo / Alias : Boston Globe
For all the unabashed cliches and straight-faced silliness delivered by Johnson, Paul Giamatti, and their generally capable castmates, they're doing something right.

Name : Lou Lumenick / Alias : New York Post
The special effects aren't bad for a lower-budget ($100 million) blockbuster, though director Brad Peyton and his writers often deploy them in downright laughable ways.

Name : Kevin C. Johnson / Alias : St. Louis Post-Dispatch
"San Andreas" is an action film that hits viewers over the head. Again and again. But isn't that exactly why you'd want to go see it?
